I'm Rob — a local, licensed plumber based right here in the Sutherland Shire. Available 24/7, free quotes, lifetime labour warranty.
I handle the full range of residential and strata plumbing across Gymea. Every job comes with a free upfront quote and my lifetime labour warranty.
Gymea has a genuine village feel — a tight local shopping strip, generous blocks and some of the oldest housing in the southern Shire. Most of the residential streets were developed from the late 1940s through to the 1970s, and a lot of the sewer infrastructure dates back to the same era. That means clay earthenware pipes, and clay pipes mean one thing: root intrusion.
The large established trees on Gymea blocks — jacarandas, grevilleas, liquid ambers and the occasional camphor laurel — are beautiful, but their roots find their way into old clay sewer joints over time. I get calls from this suburb regularly for slow-draining showers and gurgling toilets that turn out to be tree roots inside the sewer line. CCTV inspection is the best first step — it shows exactly where the problem is before any excavation.
I also see a lot of ageing hot water systems in Gymea, particularly original electric storage units that are well past their useful life. If your hot water is taking longer to heat up, running out faster or making unusual noises, it's worth having it looked at before it fails overnight.
I work throughout Gymea and all the surrounding suburbs:

That combination usually points to a partial blockage in the sewer line, often from tree roots in older clay pipes. I use a CCTV camera to locate the exact problem before recommending a fix — call me and we'll diagnose it properly.
