I'm Rob — a local, licensed plumber based right here in the Sutherland Shire. Available 24/7, free quotes, lifetime labour warranty.
I handle the full range of residential and strata plumbing across Menai. Every job comes with a free upfront quote and my lifetime labour warranty.
Menai was largely developed between the 1970s and 1990s, which makes it somewhat newer than the older parts of the Shire. The good news is that most of the sewer infrastructure is PVC rather than clay — so the classic root-intrusion-into-clay-pipes scenario is less common here. The bad news is that PVC systems from this era have their own failure modes: joint failures, misaligned sections from ground movement and cracked pipes from decades of use.
Hot water is probably the most common call I get from Menai. Many of the homes here have original gas hot water systems installed in the 1980s and 1990s — continuous flow units and storage tanks that are well past their design life. If your hot water is unreliable or the unit is making more noise than it used to, it's often more cost-effective to replace than repair.
Menai also has some larger blocks where dual-occupancy homes and granny flats have been added over the years. These properties often have complex plumbing arrangements — separate water meters, shared sewer connections, gas lines that have been extended and re-extended. I'm experienced working on these mixed-use residential setups and I'll make sure any work meets current code before I sign off.
I work throughout Menai and all the surrounding suburbs:
